SATELLITE TV

Free Satellite TV

Free Satellite TV

Everybody loves that word.  Free.  But just how do you apply it to satellite TV?  Is there really such a thing?  Well, yes and no.  Getting free satellite tv comes down to four basic possibilities:

Win a Contest

Sometimes a satellite TV provider will offer a contest to create a buzz over their organization.  Keep your eyes open, and you might spot a contest in your neighborhood.  Then simply be sure to follow the contest rules carefully.  You might see it as a “longshot”, but somebody has to win the contest, right?  Why not you?

Get an Apartment with It as a Free Amenity

Believe it or not, many apartments (especially ones in the city) offer free satellite TV as an amenity for renting out an apartment.  If so, see if you are being charged extra for it.  If you’re not sure whether an apartment offers it, just ask.  Generally though, since satellite tv is so popular, if it doesn’t mention it in the advertisement, don’t get your hopes up.

Hack It

Some of you may be thinking, what about hacking?  This is not a good idea.  First of all, it’s illegal.  Second, it’s against the law.  And third, it’s very naughty.  But seriously, hacking a satellite provider could get you into some very hot water.  You could end up paying tens of thousands of dollars in fines, actually go to jail, and endure the stress and embarrassment of being arrested.  As if that wasn’t bad enough, you also have to contend with so-called hacking equipment which is really a scam to rip you off.  Ask yourself, “Is it really worth the risk?”

Get It as Part of a Free Promotional

Many providers of satellite TV offer a promotional.  These eye-catchers involve getting so many months of free service or free delivery and installation if you agree to a such-and-such-year contract.  Before signing anything, please be sure to read the fine print.  Make sure you’re getting a good deal.  Promotionals can be a very effective way to get free satellite TV, for a while at least anyway.

Free Satellite TV on Your PC

Finally, there’s satellite TV on your desktop, laptop, or tablet PC.  This technological advancement has gone through years of experimentation and has made it through.  It uses proprietary web technology, doing away with the provider, dish, and receiver.  One of the best packages out there is Satellite TV For PC Elite Edition. This software puts over 3000 channels at your fingertips.  What’s the catch?  Well, it’s not technically free.  You have to pay a one-time fee of $49.95.  But that still means it’s free from then on.  There is a demo available by going to Free Download Manager’s web site if you’d like to see it for yourself.
